My career in Hospitality has taught me that while opulence wows and amenities impress, it is the depth of human connection that creates loyalty, trust and lasting memories. From my earliest days in luxury hotels working as a lifeguard to leading teams of service professionals, I've had the privilege of witnessing service at its highest level. I've learned that the essence of hospitality is not just in what we do for our guests but in how we make them feel. The Art of AnticipationThe most skilled individuals I've worked with have a rare ability to anticipate needs before they are articulated. It's a delicate dance of observation and intuition, rooted in curiosity about the individual. In a prior role, I remember a guest casually mentioning their love of a specific coffee and how their father opened the first espresso stand in Seattle, before Starbucks. Before the day was out, our runner had sourced this specific coffee bean, the butler ground the beans and brewed it perfectly, then served it alongside a handwritten note. The guest was floored--not by the coffee itself, but by the thoughtfulness behind the gesture. This level of personalization transforms a stay into a story. It's not about extravagance for its own sake; it's about the recognition that a guest's preferences, quirks and passions matter. As a second-generation Las Vegas native, hospitality runs deep in Giavanna Scuderi's veins.
