RAMSEY, NJ: Konica Minolta manufacturer of business and industrial imaging solutions launches robotics services in partnership with Savioke, a Santa Clara based manufacturer of autonomous robots for service industry, to redefine hotel room services.
As part of the scheme, Konica Minolta will provide onsite installation, maintenance and break/fix services to Savioke's Relay robots while Savioke will continue to design, manufacture and supply the robots to the hospitality industry.
Presently these Service robot prototypes are put to work at two Aloft hotels in California’s San Francisco Bay Area.

SavyOne prototype one of the robotics model designed for hospitality industry and to increase staff productivity without alienating any guests. Developed using wooden frame and 3-D printed plastics the robot is less than a meter in height, weighs almost 45 kilos, and it rolls around on four wheels. It has a compartment large enough to hold standard hotel delivery items like snacks, bottles of water, and towels. Hotel staffs can load it up and then punch in a room number on a touch screen to send the robot on its way.
