Toby Cheng, VP of Sales & Marketing and Edward Yu, VP of Finance & Investments“Our hands-on approach ensures an optimal balance between management and strategic support from the corporate office to maintain high standards and efficiency across all properties,” says Toby Cheng, VP of Sales & Marketing.
HHG’s management strategy focuses on maintaining a small, carefully curated portfolio. Since its inception, the company has developed 27 hotels and operates around 22 across seven states. It ensures that each property— owned or managed—receives equal time and attention. Operating at an optimal size, its regional managers and support teams closely oversee each hotel’s operations, fostering strong communication with clients and providing personalized support to meet the unique needs of every property.
HHG VPs and Regionals conduct regular, thorough evaluations of each property to further enhance operational oversight. Analyzing relevant data, they identify growth opportunities and provide comprehensive reports for partners seeking more profound insights into their properties. With actionable insights, HHG’s in-house sales, marketing, revenue management, and operational teams effectively address each client’s unique needs.
We genuinely care for all our employees, creating a ripple effect. Our staff takes pride in their work, resulting in exceptional service to guests
Strong leadership drives HHG’s exceptional client service and industry expertise. Co-founders Kevin Keefer and Brent Andrus bring over fifty years of combined hospitality experience. They place employees at the core of the firm’s success, prioritizing their well-being and creating a supportive work environment.
HHG implements targeted recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent for key positions and invests substantial time and resources into their professional growth. Its commitment is evident in the impressive tenure of many staff members across both corporate and sales divisions.

Employees are encouraged to advance from their previous roles by participating in training programs. For instance, front desk agents have risen to the role of GMs and sales managers have progressed to regional vice presidents, highlighting the company’s dedication to fostering talent and ensuring the success of its properties.
“We genuinely care for all our employees, creating a ripple effect. Our staff takes pride in their work, resulting in exceptional service to guests,” says Edward Yu, VP of Finance & Investments.
Its people-first approach extends from the top leadership down through every level of the organization. The result is a culture where employees feel valued and supported, and this care translates directly into higher guest satisfaction and operational success across all HHG properties.
The company leverages advanced technology to further optimize operations, utilizing in-house tools and third-party solutions for data analysis and decision-making. By appointing a director of AI who focuses on improving analytics and identifying inefficiencies, HHG enhances data management while effectively adopting and testing technologies.
It has also streamlined administrative tasks by automating systems and reports. Recent investments in a centralized reporting platform have enhanced its ability to offer customized reporting for clients alongside in-house solutions, enhancing client satisfaction. For instance, during COVID-19, HHG assisted clients struggling with zero revenue generation and unresponsive lenders and financial partners. By staying updated on ever quickly evolving regulations, HHG offered essential guidance to steer clients and to make sure they had access to all available resources and support during their hour of need.
HHG is constantly striving to achieve market-leading RevPAR and acquire award-winning properties. In 2024, six of its properties have received Marriott’s Gold or Silver Circle awards, reflecting exceptional guest satisfaction. HHG has been awarded three Partnership Circle Awards, which is awarded to franchise companies with ten or more hotels that achieve stringent metrics and brand standard audits, as well as guest satisfaction awards. By leveraging its years of experience of navigating and succeeding in the hotel industry, constantly refining its infrastructure and empowering employees, HHG ensures excellence in hotel management. Its culture of care and respect propels it to cultivate pride among staff, driving a relentless pursuit of success for both hotels and their guests and redefining the standards of hospitality.
