Artificial intelligence helps build intelligent hotels, thereby solving business woes and deliver a stunning user experience.
FREMONT, CA: Businesses are extracting the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to address all the business woes. AI-powered robotics fostered greater trust for the hospitality industry by transforming its processes, services, and facilities. AI prevents fraud, and one fine example would be SageMaker, the cloud-based machine-learning platform from AWS, which detects common patterns associated with fraud that humans may miss to interpret. When the results are produced earlier, brands can identify issues much faster and mitigate problems more efficiently. This nips identity theft in the bud and limits the scope of potential fraud.
All AI is not the same as companies have their own requirements and develop AI that best suits for specific situations.
Robots Implement Tedious Tasks
Hotels are now implementing robotic process automation (RPA) to speed up the opening process. They automate the labor-intensive data entry process that goes into a hotel opening and ensures the accuracy of the website and OTA information is up-to-date. RPA improves the data entry speed enabling hotels to open faster. In the absence of RPA, hotel owners need to fill a spreadsheet, which in turn needs to be loaded into the Sabre software, which pushes the data further into OTAs. RPA eliminates returning of the form, thus freeing human responsibilities of performing tasks that will add value to guests’ experiences.
Robots overhaul humans in performing tasks like looking at spreadsheets and speed up the opening process. Now, the revenue management team is curious about finding RPA applications.
AI-Powered Cameras
Hotels are now seeking to solve the issues associated with throughput at the front desk. Now, the IT team is experimenting with cameras to implement queue detection. Cameras built with AI can detect the line with more than two or three people. The system will then send an automatic SMS alert to the hotel concierge regarding the need for another agent at the front desk. This will allow the staff to focus on other tasks, without fear of skipping an opportunity to deliver better in-person guest service.
